Mathematics Without Tears and Fears #2 – Student Showcase – Pedagogical Games

The Incubator was pleased to host a student showcase on February 11th from 12-1.30pm as part of the Mathematics without Tears and Fears project.

The project supports undergraduate students in a student as a co-researcher model to produce a set of pedagogical games of mathematical proof.

During the session, the students presented three games they have developed so far, as well as a wider presentation and update on the ongoing digital design plans. The students that presented at the session were: Eloise Williams, Elie Feinsilber, Elliot Jones, Zsuzsanna Riedel, Tom Lewis, Ben Fuller, Ricky Bassom, and Matthew Yates.

12:00 – 12:15 – Welcome, project introduction and an explanation of pedagogical games
12:15 – 12:25 – Eloise Williams presents her game
12:25 – 12:35 – Elliot Jones presents his game
12:35 – 12:45 – Elie Feinsilber presents his game
12:45 – 13:00 – Ricky Bassom and Matthew Yates update on the digital design and future plans
13:00 – 13:15 – Plans of data collection and experimentation (stats group)
13:15 – 13:30 – Q&A
